Spartanburg, S.C.—Mark Bellissimo is the managing partner of the Tryon Equestrian Partners that played a large part in bringing the 2018 World Equestrian Games to North Carolina. The event gathered roughly 200,000 spectators and competitors from around the globe.
On Thursday March 21, Bellissimo was the keynote speaker at the Spartanburg Community College 2019 Economic Visionaries event. Bellissimo said that his group put more than $200 million into the development of the Tryon International Equestrian Center prior to the 2018 World Equestrian Games.
At the SCC event Bellissimo also openly discussed a joint venture in Polk County that TIEC will be undergoing with US Precision Construction, in the development of new lodging and entertainment sites.
Bellissimo showed footage of robots building floors, walls, and almost fully completed rooms entirely with robotics. This innovation is what pushed TIEC to partner with US Precision Construction, although using robotics for the full construction process is still just a theory, according to Bellissimo.
The 2019 Economic Visionaries event recognized and praised four companies for their contributions in the Upstate. Those four companies are AWL Automation, Duke Energy, Polydeck Screening Corp. and Lockhart Power.
