Remembering a Legacy: Historian Greg McKee to Speak about the Harlem Hell Fighters

On Tuesday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m., historian and researcher Greg McKee will be at the Landrum Library for a presentation entitled A Forgotten Legacy. During the presentation, McKee will be talking about the Harlem Hell Fighters, Camp Wadsworth and the African American experience during World War I.

Joining McKee will be speaker Ri’Cha ri Sancho, the grand-niece of Freddie Stowers, a soldier from Anderson, S.C. and the first African American to receive the Medal of Honor in World War I. The program will also feature special music by Marshall and Leon James.
