The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy was flagged down Tuesday morning because a man was passed out in his vehicle near the clubhouse at the Blue Ridge Plantation neighborhood in Taylors, S.C.

As the deputy approached the vehicle, Pearson fled and struck the deputy’s car, according to reports. Pearson was later identified and was driving a stolen 2008 Volvo station wagon.

Later Tuesday afternoon, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office found the vehicle at a home on Hammett Road in Spartanburg County. Deputies attempted to arrest Pearson, but he fled and struck two more sheriff vehicles and almost hit a person, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

As of Wednesday, Pearson was being held in the Polk County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond. The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office did not know when Pearson would be extradited back to South Carolina to face charges there.
