Boil water advisory for some of downtown Tryon

TRYON—A water main break on Trade Street this morning has caused a boil water advisory notice for customers in Tryon between Maple Street and Carolina Drive.

Customers on Trade Street/Highway 176 from Maple Street to Carolina Drive are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages, which increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of  bacteria into the water system.

Customers along the affected section should boil water for all human consumption, including for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation or asked to use bottled water.
