Patricia Kathryn (Pruette) Barber passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, in her home in Apollo, Pennsylvania. 

Her husband of 21 years, Herbert Barber, died July 2, 2018.

The daughter of the late Tandy and Grace Smith Pruette, she was born May 10, 1944.

A graduate of Tryon High School as well as Kings College in Charlotte, North Carolina, Pat devoted over 20 years to working at the Tryon office of the North Carolina National Bank within the trust department. 

Pats’ hobbies include knitting, so most of her family have cherished items she lovingly made. 

Pat was blessed to have many friends and family members who will cherish her memories, including her brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Emma Pruitt of Tryon; a niece, Karen Pruette (and Robert Brock) of Island of Palms, South Carolina; a nephew, Cappy Pruette of Landrum, South Carolina; a niece, Sandy (and Bryan) Pisano of Richmond, Virginia; great-nephew, Alex (and Kate) Fagan of Greenville, South Carolina; great-nieces, Lizz (and Eric) Stapleton of Columbia, South Carolina, and Kathryn Fagan; as well as her great-great nephew, Bear Stapleton, who Pat said “had her heart since day one.” Pat is also survived by Herb’s grown children, Dave and Debbie Mihalic of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Gary Barber and Randy Barber of Apollo, Pennsylvania; and his grandchildren, Emily Barber, Madison Barber, Jordyn Mihalic, Justin Mihalic and Adam Mihalic.
