The Wolverine Wrestling club continued to produce solid showings, bringing home three first-place finishes from Saturday’s Relentless Wrestling Tournament at Apple Valley Middle School.

The club took 13 wrestlers to the competition, facing teams from North and South Carolina. Included in the Wolverine contingent was Maddy Jarvis, who competed in the elementary girls division.

“Maddy has come ready to wrestle every day at practice, and all the coaches were very proud of how she competed at the tournament this weekend,” said Wolverine Wrestling Club head coach Russell Wilson.

Bo Wilson, R.J. Simpson and Styler Blackwell won their respective divisions.

“We practiced on finishing matches and not giving up when things are not going our way in the first period,” Wilson said. “We had a few matches this weekend [where] our wrestlers keep pushing the pace of the match and ended up pulling out victories in the last period.”

The club plans to next compete in two tournaments in Hendersonville in January.
