A pillar of Tryon’s storied history with the arts celebrated a major milestone Monday evening. Upstairs Artspace hosted a gala to celebrate the modern art gallery’s 40th anniversary at its location in downtown Tryon. Artists, art lovers, public officials and others in the community gathered to check out the gallery’s silent art auction, view a timeline of the institution’s history and enjoy some hors d’oeuvres.
