Landrum parade, stroll canceled

The 2018 Landrum Christmas Parade and Stroll, originally postponed until Dec. 15, has now been canceled.
Anticipated rain on Dec. 15, combined with muddy conditions at Brookwood Park and snow accumulations along the parade route, influenced the decision. Another consideration was that utility companies are still in the area restoring power, so closing streets for the parade could hinder their operations.
Santa Claus will greet children at Operation Hope in downtown Landrum from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22.
The event sponsors — the Landrum Area Business Association, the Landrum Fire and Rescue District and the city of Landrum — regret the cancelation, organizers said.
