FENCE to host bird feeding basics workshop Dec. 14

Published 8:00 am Thursday, December 6, 2018

International birding guide Aaron Steed will present an introduction to the world of bird feeding at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center.

Participants will learn about the different types of feeders, seed blends and hardware available in today’s market that can be used to attract a variety of birds to their backyard. Participants will leave this class with all the knowledge they will need to get started with a bird feeding set-up perfect for their location, be it a city apartment or the countryside, organizers said.

Tips for dealing with squirrels, bears and other unwelcome visitors will also be discussed.
