Honoring America’s bravest

Cold rain did not stop local veterans and residents from honoring Veterans Day on Monday. Although the parade was canceled because of rain and temperatures in the 30s Monday morning, local veteran groups still held a ceremony at Veteran’s Park in Columbus under the shelter. A hanging of the wreath was done, as well as the pledge of allegiance, singing of the national anthem and a Polk County Honor Guard gun salute. Veterans Day was on Sunday.
