Owl Prowl at FENCE scheduled to take place Friday
Published 8:00 am Saturday, October 27, 2018
The public is invited to join international birding guide Aaron Steed for an evening walk around the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center grounds to look and listen for owls at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
Participants will learn to identify the three most common owl species in western North Carolina (Great Horned, Eastern Screech and Barred Owl) by call. With some luck, guests may hear and hopefully see one.
Participants may bring their flashlights or headlamps, as well as their “inside voices,” to the event.
This program is free and open to the public. Guests are asked to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
The event is made possible by the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation.
FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon, North Carolina. More information about this or upcoming events is available by calling 828-859-9021 or emailing info@fence.org.
