He said that Rotarians are very proud of the progress of Rotary’s Polio Plus program, which aims to eradicate polio from existence.

In 1988, when Rotary began Polio Plus, there were an estimated 350,000 people paralyzed by the polio virus throughout the world. Last year, there were only 20 reported cases of polio.

Rotary is committed to its fight against the dreaded disease until there are no reported cases for three years, representatives said.

In welcoming the district governor, Club President Fred Hartley presented him a check in the amount of $500 to go to the Polio Plus Campaign.
