Vera Elizabeth Cartee, 73, of Campobello, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018.

She was the daughter of the late William Frady and Shirley Warren Frady.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Preston Richards Sr.; her second husband, Gaston Cartee; a son, Jerry Preston Richards Jr.; two grandchildren, Tanya Elizabeth McGinley and Ryan Douglas Ford; two sisters; and two brothers.

Surviving are Elizabeth Ann McGinley (David Michael) of Barnardsville, North Carolina; Melva Carol Livey of Hendersonville, North Carolina; Jamie Lavon Richards (Penny Renee) of Inman, South Carolina; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens in Boiling Springs, South Carolina, officiated by the Rev. Joe L. Miller.

Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, North Carolina.
