Children may register for free for the upcoming Ache Around the Lake, a benefit for St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation, which will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Lake Lanier.

Ache Around the Lake is a community event that includes The Ache (8K or 5 miles) or The Ouch (a 2-mile fun run).

Children and teens may register free of charge for the upcoming Ache Around the Lake run, which will take place Sept. 22 at Lake Lanier. Pictured is McKenna Morris, who took first place in one of last year’s runs. (Submitted photo)

Thanks to an anonymous donation, children 4-14 years old can register free of cost. Parents must complete a paper registration form available in their child’s school office or at St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation.

Proceeds from Ache Around the Lake will fund aesthetic improvements, including furnishings, paint and décor, for the Family Room in the intensive care unit at St. Luke’s Hospital. This renovation project will provide a warm, comforting and private space for family and guests to gather while visiting their loved one, foundation representatives said.

T-shirts will go to the first 100 registered children.

People may call St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation at 828-894-2693 for more details.
