Daniel Buford Gosnell, 70, of Tryon, passed away Thursday evening, Aug. 30, 2018, at the Smith Phayer Hospice House.

Born in Polk County, he was the son of the late Buford and Juanita Bradshaw Gosnell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam.

Mr. Gosnell retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He enjoyed coin and gem collecting.

Surviving is one son, Jeffery Wall; one daughter, Michelle Plumley; and one granddaughter, Taylor Plumley.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, in Polk Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Justin Nelson officiating, with military rites conducted by the Polk County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
