Maj. Jack Allen Brandon, U.S.M.C. (Ret.)

Retired U.S.M.C. Maj. Jack Allen Brandon, of Tryon, passed away Aug. 20, 2018, at his home.

Born in Canada, he was the son of the late Horace Allan Brandon and Jeanne Pelietier Brandon.  Maj. Brandon retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. after serving three tours in Vietnam as a combat pilot and forward air controller. He earned many awards during his time in service, including three Air Medal awards, three Distinguished Flying Cross awards, a Silver Star Medal, a Bronze Star Medal and a Purple Heart. 

After retirement, he served as a corporate pilot for several large companies. After his second retirement, he moved to Hendersonville, and later settled in the Tryon area in 2001.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Judson Brandon.

Surviving is his partner in life, Deborah Brandon; and one sister, Bernice Williams (Jerry) of El Paso, Texas.
