On July 24, Polk County Farm Bureau and Polk County Extension (4-H) collaborated to put on a community safety day for children 8 and older. The event was held at Stearns Gym. Polk Recreation day campers as well as 4-H’ers participated. Instructors from local community organizations, such as the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Polk EMS, Foothills Humane Society, Sunny View Fire Department, Bill Davis, of Timberbrook Farms, Farm Bureau and 4-H taught safety information on a variety of topics.  (Photos submitted by Helen Clark Blackwell)
