Lanier Library’s quarterly Literary Open Stage will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the library.

The featured reader this month is local author and Tryon Daily Bulletin columnist Susan McNabb (also known by her pen name, Suki McMinn), who will read from her new novel set in a small North Carolina town — containing, perhaps, a vampire or two.

Established and emerging writers are invited to share their work, finished or in progress, at the library’s quarterly Literary Open Stage.

Readers can sign-up for 10-minute spots beginning at 5:30 p.m., with readings beginning at 6 p.m. There is a 10-reader limit.

This is an eclectic evening of listening for non-writers as well — everything from fiction and creative non-fiction to poetry — and a fun way to meet some of the abundant writing talent in the region, organizers said.

The next Literary Open Stage will take place at 6 p.m. Nov. 1.
