I commend Eugene Comiskey for his letter to the editor that was published last week, addressing the indecent rhetoric that is being exchanged in our country right now.

I agree wholeheartedly with him, and I am not alone. I personally believe the news media is fueling the flames, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to disregard anything we see on the evening news until after the midterm elections — except for the three-minute “inspirational stories” that help us keep our dinner down. 

I never have understood why we can’t have more good news instead of the hate-mongering speech we are relentlessly bombarded with every single day.

I have frankly had enough, and plan to just turn off the tube and go for a walk.
