Polk County quartet earns 1A all-state softball honors

Four Polk County players have earned all-state honors from the North Carolina Softball Coaches Association. Recent graduates Haley Fowler, Maranda Gosnell and Autumn Owen and rising senior Ansley Lynch (pictured) were all named to the NCSCA’s 1A All-State team. The quartet also received all-district honors from the NCASA. East Surry’s Bethany Clayton was named the 1A West Player of the Year, with Alleghany’s Kenzi Lyall named the 1A West Pitcher of the Year. (Submitted by PolkSports.com)
