William (Bill) Marvin Wilkerson, Jr., 77, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018.

Bill lived in Saluda, North Carolina, with his wife, Betty, whom he affectionately called “Blue.”

Born July 11, 1940, in Greenwood, South Carolina, Bill was the son of the late William Marvin and Musette Power Wilkerson.

Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed time with his family, hiking, traveling and sharing stories on the porch in Saluda. He was a gifted woodworker, building or renovating many things such as blue bird houses, hand-turned candle sticks, chicken coops and houseboats.

He is survived by Betty Grice Wilkerson, his loving wife of 52 years; two daughters, Shannon Wilkerson Wilson (Bill) and Katherine Wilkerson, both of Greenville; one sister, Sara Ann Wight of Amelia Island, Florida; and four grandchildren, William, Rose, Mae and Holmes, who adored their granddaddy.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Saluda, with Father Jim Dannals officiating.
