Charles Boyce Howard, 76, of Tryon, North Carolina, passed away Monday afternoon, June 18, 2018, at his home.

A native of Polk County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Hugh Edward Howard and Estelle Garrett Howard.

Mr. Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a Drill Sergeant. During his working career, he worked in several different fields; his last career was truck driving.

He was a member of Pacolet Baptist Church, Lynn, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Howard; sister-in-law, Frances Howard; and a niece, Laura Merck.

Surviving are Nancy Hayes; three nieces, Julie, Sarah and Alli; one nephew, Lindsey. Also surviving are several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service was held in Tryon City Cemetery, Tryon.
