Gilmer Bradley, 87, of Mill Spring, passed away Monday at Hospice House in Forest City.

Gilmer was a native of Polk County, widow of the late Nannie Sue Bradley and son of the late Holbert Green and Dalia Bradley.

In addition to his wife and parents, Gilmer was preceded in death by a son, Gilmer Jr.; brothers, George and David Bradley; and sisters, Annie Belle Liese and Geneva Nelon. 

Gilmer was a retired spinning fixer in the textile industry.

Farming was Gilmer’s passion he loved working the land with his Massey Ferguson tractor while his dog Cricket accompanied him.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Clifford Bradley and wife Donna; brother Bennie Greene and wife Kathleen; three sisters, Alice Bailey, Lizzie Hudgins and Mary Broadwater; granddaughter, Cynthia Bradley and great-grandchildren Bradley and Alyssa; grandson Brian Bradley and wife Patricia, and great-grandchildren Keeleigh and Daylon.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Big Level Baptist Church with the Rev. Warren Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Crowe’s Mortuary.
