Conserving Carolina will host a free lecture titled, “Wolf Tales: The Truth about Wolves,” presented by Wildlife Biologist Rob Gudger on Saturday, June 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Anne Elizabeth Suratt Nature Center at Walnut Creek Preserve.

Gudger will discuss the biology of wolves and their relation to dogs, myths surrounding the  animal, and allow the audience see the canines first-hand. Gudger raises Timber Wolves (Canis lupus) and he will be bringing a wolf to the nature center to educate and amaze the audience. 

Gudger has his bachelor’s degree of science in wildlife biology and animal husbandry from North Carolina State. His environmental work includes working for Duke Power on Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee for 24 years, and he has educated the public about wolves for 30 years. 

To get to Walnut Creek Preserve’s Nature Center from the Tryon and Columbus area, take Highway 108 Eeast and turn left on Highway 9 toward Lake Lure.

The lecture is part of Conserving Carolina’s monthly Speaker Series at Walnut Creek Preserve.
