Foothills Gymnastics Academy competes at Southern Regionals

On May 19 and 20, Foothills Gymnastics Academy sent 11 gymnasts to the 2018 AAU Southern Regional Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.

Two Xcel Gold gymnasts, Eliza Then and Hurley Bell, competed for FGA at regionals.

Then received third on vault, third on bar, third on beam and second all around.

Bell received second  on vault, second on beam with a 9.55, third on floor and third all around.

Three Xcel Silver gymnasts, Brooklyn Jones, Caity Elledge, and Grace Settles, competed at regionals from FGA

Jones earned first on vault, second on bars and first all around.

Elledge won first on bars with a 9.75, second on beam, second on floor and second all around.

Though Settles had an injury of a sprained ankle and she wasn’t able to compete in all of the events, she brought home a second on the bars and a second on the beam.

Six Xcel Bronze gymnasts, Anna Carlisle Keim, Beija Oivari, Elizabeth Fincher, Lucy Boone Hyde, Reeve Carroll, and Zina Ishwar, represented FGA at regionals.

Carlisle received third on the bars with a 9.675, third on the floor and fourth all around.

Oivari received third on the vault, fourth on the floor, and third all around.

Fincher earned second on the bars, third on the floor, and third all around.

Hyde received fourth on vault, sixth on beam, and seventh all around.

Carroll won third on bars, third on beam, and fourth all around.

Ishwar earned first on the beam with a 9.6, third on the vault, third on the floor and second all around.

Foothills Gymnastics Academy brought home 14 third place medals, 11 second place medals and four first place medals.

FGA is now preparing for AAU Nationals in June.
