Perfect weather greets large field at April’s Hunter Pace ride

A total of 97 riders participated in the recent River Valley Pony Club Hunter Pace and Trail Ride, hosted on breezy, sunny day at Collinsville Meadows on April 22.

There were 48 Field Hunters in 25 teams. The Optimum time was set at 1:36:42.

First-place honors were awarded to Brandon Blankenship and Lisa Clements with the time of 1:37:22. The second-place red ribbon was awarded to Reagan Burrell with a time of 1:37:41.

Third-place honors went to Beth Goldizen with a time of 1:31:44. The fourth-place pink was awarded to the team of Amy Christensen and Rich Putman with the time of 1:31:09.

Fifth place was awarded to the trio of Amanda Aiello, Nicola Deines and Linda Plummer with the time of 1:30:29. Rounding out the ribbon winners in the Field Hunter Division was the sixth-place green awarded to Debbie Croft with the time of 1:30:11.

Honorable mention to Rebecca Tolson with the time of 1:30:09, and Marcia Headrick and Richard Neel who finished with a time of 1:30:03.

There were 36 Trail Riders in 20 teams. The Calculated Optimum was 2:18:23.

In first place was Tracy Hudson and Susan Knickerbocker, who came in with the time of 2:18:51. Second place went to Bobby Turner with a time of 2:17:44.

Third-place honors went to Lynn Fitch and Kay Mott with a time of 2:19:04. Fourth place went to Missy Bright and Ronnie Mann with a time of 2:17:40. Fifth place went to Taylor Reed and Jennifer Trilk with the time of 2:16:17.

Rounding out the placements for the Trail Rider Division was sixth place for the trio of Erin O’Dwyer and Hyland and Ryker Sheffron with a time of 2:16:15.

A Mini Pace was also offered for riders who are new to the event or older and younger riders or horses, or those who just want a shorter trail. Timing is for safety and there are currently no competition points for this division.
