Meeting on land, farm preservation to take place Tuesday

Wheat Creek Baptist Church will host a workshop on land and farm preservation at 6 p.m. Tuesday, presented by Dawn Jordan, Polk County’s agriculture economic development director, and Patrick McLendon, director of Growing Rural Opportunities.

The workshop will be held at the church, 131 Wheat Creek Lane, Rutherfordton (GPS: Pea Ridge Road, Mill Spring).

Attorney Savi Horne, of the Land Loss Prevention Project in Durham, will also be on hand to answer any questions guests may have.

The mission of the Land Loss Prevention Project is to provide legal support and assistance to all financially distressed and limited resource farmers and landowners in North Carolina.

A light meal will be served. The event is hosted by Resourceful Communities.
