Michael Verbonic, 78, of Landrum, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Pardee Hospital. 

He was the son of the late Michael and Mary Kostelac Verbonic, and husband of Gretchen Reader Verbonic. 

He was a graduate of West Virginia University, a U.S Army veteran and worked for USATREX in computer sales. He also worked for Honeywell for more than 20 years in sales and technical support. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Margaret Hodges of Hendersonville, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Chavez.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Petty Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Frost officiating. 

A reception will follow at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center.
