In April, Keystone Self Storage owners Bill and Rittina Robinson opened Keystone RV Rental. They have several 25- and 30-foot recreational vehicles available to rent for local or cross-country road trips.

“We have a family leaving in a 30-foot RV tomorrow,” said Keystone RV Rental Manager Kris Guerra. “They’re taking their kids to the Grand Canyon. They’re so excited.”

Bill said they partnered with Cruise America because the company offers great customer service and a complete vacation package.

“Someone can fly in from Europe with nothing but a toothbrush,” he said. “We can pick them up at the airport and supply nearly everything else.”

According to Robinson, the RVs can be rented complete with sheets, blankets, sleeping bags, towels, pots, cookware, dishes, brooms, tea kettles and coffee mugs. He said the company also offers total roadside assistance to address any problems.

The RVs are new and modern and include roomy showers, microwaves, refrigerators and plenty of storage space. The 30-foot RV even comes with a picnic table and pets are welcome.

Robinson said he had an RV rental dealership in Florida, but it was not Cruise America.

“The Cruise America dealership in that area was already taken,” he said. “That’s how I knew how good they are.”

Robinson said that Cruise America is a great company to be a part of.

“They’re downright nice people,” he said. “They’re very service oriented and bend over backward to make it a good experience for their customers.”

Keystone is only one of two Cruise America dealerships in South Carolina. Robinson said he and his family discovered the Landrum area when they were on and RV trip and moved here in 2007. They opened Keystone Self Storage three years ago and, in addition to storage units, they having parking space for cars, boats, trucks, trailers and RVs.

“RV people are the nicest people,” Robinson said.

As a local business owner and member of the Landrum Area Business Association and the Foothills Chamber of Commerce, and a supporter of local high school athletic programs, Robinson likes bringing the RV rental business to Landrum because it attracts business and visitors to the community.

“People will buy gas, groceries, meals and other things while they’re here,” he said.
