Tryon Little Theater to celebrate 70th anniversary June 3

Tryon Little Theater will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a “Fabulous Forties” gala at historic Sunnydale on June 3.

TLT presented its first play May 5, 1948, and 70 years later is still going strong, still growing, and still looking forward to many more years of providing high-quality, affordable, live entertainment, organizers said.

The “Fabulous Forties” celebration starts at 5 p.m., and will include wine and beer, appetizers, and a “Flavors à la Art” dinner compliments of Harvest House, Huckleberry’s, Lavender Bistro, McGourty’s Irish Pub, Stone Soup Market & Café and The Rural Seed Restaurant.  There will also be a Rebecca Davis cake — baked specially for the occasion — as well as other desserts.

All proceeds will go to Tryon Little Theater’s building campaign, which is raising money for a new playhouse at the corner of Trade Street and Highway 176.
