Polk boys capture WHKP Relays title

Polk County’s boys captured the WHKP Relays title Wednesday, edging Franklin in the competition held at North Henderson High School.

The Wolverines earned 77.5 points in the relay-based event, edging Franklin’s 75. West Henderson took third with 67 points in the 10-team field.

Polk County captured the 1600-meter sprint relay, with Jake Justice winning the long jump and Luke Sellers winning the shot put. Dillon Overholt added a third in the long jump and Bryson Seay added a third in the shot.

The Polk County girls placed ninth in the 11-team competition won by West Henderson. Reagan Waddell took top honors in shot put to lead the Wolverines.
