Marie Haynes McGuinn Sain, 96, of Mill Spring, North Carolina, passed away Saturday evening, April 7, 2018, in Billings, Montana.

Born in Rutherford County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Willie Haynes and Pearlie McCraw Haynes.

Mrs. Sain was first married to Eddie Buford McGuinn. She then married Walter Sain, who died in 2002. 

She was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church as a teenager. Mrs. Sain loved fishing and flowers.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Geneva McGuinn and Arlene Lawson; three brothers, General Haynes, Grady Haynes and Alfred Haynes; three sisters, Belle Swain, Glennie Heydman and Kate Wilson.

Surviving are three sons, Decator McGuinn of Mill Spring, Maynard Randy McGuinn of Columbia, South Carolina, and Robbin McGuinn of Forest City, North Carolina; one daughter, Lillian Silvers of Billings, Montana; three sisters, Stella Lowman of Maryland, Pantha Lively of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Dorothy Kath of New Jersey; one brother, Cecil Haynes of Inman, South Carolina. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Silver Creek Baptist Church, Mill Spring, with Dr. Chris Osborn and the Rev. Warren Elliott officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
