In a presentation on Monday in Landrum, The Knights of Columbus Council 9492, St John’s Tryon, presented $1,000 checks to staff of the Charles Lea Center. The money was raised locally by the knights as part of the LAMB (Least Among My Brethren) Foundation. The center uses these funds to give the residents a Christmas party each year. The LAMB Foundation is a statewide nonprofit run by the Knights of Columbus to aid those with intellectual disabilities. The Charles Lea Center provides services to help people with intellectual disabilities and/or chronic medical conditions. These services are based on the principles of a person-centered thinking, and uses each individual’s skills to promote greater independence.
