Ronald Van Patterson

Ronald Van Patterson, 68, of Green Creek, North Carolina, passed into the light on April 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born to Sara Hampton Patterson and the late James D. Patterson in Anniston, Alabama.  

He graduated from Aiken High School in 1968, and received a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College in 1972. He attended Southern Methodist University.

He married Pamela Palmer in 1986, and they raised their family together in Green Creek.

Ron was ordained as a minister of spiritual science in 1994. He founded Lumen Photon Therapy in 2000, and was a pioneer in the light therapy field. His compassionate, strong and loving presence provided guidance and loving integrity along with a pinch of mischief to family, friends and business associates along the way.

He treasured his farm, woods, animals and loved to play guitar.  

Ron is survived by his mother, Sara Patterson of Anderson, South Carolina; his wife, Pamela Patterson and their children, Brendan (Antoinette) Palmer of Campobello, South Carolina; Selena Patterson of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Ian Patterson of Spartanburg; Alicia (Gregory) Wallace of Green Creek. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie Jones of Anderson, South Carolina; and three grandchildren, Eris, Selah and Luciana Palmer.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on May 12, 2018, at Song Hill Reserve from 2-5 p.m. Memorial tributes may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, a nonprofit organization.
