Upcoming TFAC poetry event to feature regional writers

Local writers will take the stage for “Pure Poetry II” at Tryon Fine Arts Center on Tuesday, April 17, at 7 p.m.

“Pure Poetry II” is presented by the Stage Door Series, in conjunction with Lanier Library’s celebration of National Poetry Month.

Seven accomplished poets with Western North Carolina connections will read from their recent works backstage on the Veh Stage. Presenters will include Nancy Pemberton, Monica Jones, Gina Malone, Bob McCall, Karen Luke Jackson, Lynne Tanner, and Lee Stockdale. All are past winners of the Lanier Library Poetry Competition, held annually in April.

The evening will run approximately 90 minutes. Audience members will be seated backstage on the Veh Stage for this intimate reading.

Seating is limited, so please call 828-859-8322 to ensure your seat. More information is available at tryonarts.org.
