Police arrest Lynn man on meth, firearm charges

LYNN — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Lynn man Monday on charges of methamphetamine possession and stolen firearms.

Timothy William McCurry, of 191 Flat Rock Hill Road, Tryon, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and resist, obstruction and delay of an officer, according to sheriff reports.

Capt. Lowell Griffin said the Polk Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team conducted an investigation in the Lynn community after receiving tips from the community concerning drug activity. The investigation included a search warrant at McCurry’s residence, where methamphetamine, as well as a stolen firearm, drug paraphernalia and other drugs, were discovered.

McCurry was out on a $51,000 bond.
