Conserving Carolina to present lecture, live animal demonstration April 14

Published 8:00 am Wednesday, April 4, 2018

Conserving Carolina will present a free lecture, “Wildlife Rehabilitation in Higher Education: at the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Lees-McRae College,” by director Nina Fischesser on Saturday, April 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Anne Elizabeth Suratt Nature Center at Walnut Creek Preserve.

This is a free program, open to the public and will include live animals.

Under the guidance of Nina Fischesser and Amber McNamara, students at Lees-McRae College simultaneously contribute to the success of the wildlife rehabilitation/education program while engaging in a one-of-a-kind, hands-on learning experience. The May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is open 365 days per year, and students comprise a large portion of the rehabilitative operations at the center.

This presentation aims to show both behind the scenes rehabilitation of wildlife and ‘up close and personal’ natural history of our strikingly beautiful animal ambassadors.

The lecture is part of Conserving Carolina’s monthly Speaker Series at Walnut Creek Preserve.
