Falcons end Wolverines’ winning ways in 10-0 victory

West Henderson’s Kyle Porter held Polk County to three hits Wednesday, as the Wolverines’ nine-game winning streak ended with a 10-0 loss to the Falcons in Mills River.

Porter needed just 65 pitches in his five-inning complete game, striking out four.

West Henderson roughed up Polk starter Tyler Harris, scoring three runs in the first, four in the second and three in the third. Austin Geagley pitched 1 1/3 innings of hitless relief for the Wolverines (10-2).

Tim Mosso finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs to lead West Henderson’s attack.

Holden Owens, Nick Capozzi and Wilson Edwards each singled for Polk, which returned home Thursday to host Avery in a Western Highlands Conference matchup.
