Wolverines drop 1-0 decision in WHC girls soccer opener

Owen’s Kayla Rosman scored early in the second half Monday to lift the Warhorses to a 1-0 win over Polk County in a Western Highlands Conference girls soccer match in Swannanoa.
The Warhorses improved to 5-1, 1-0 with the win in the conference opener for both teams. Polk County dropped to 3-5 overall, 0-1 in league play.
It marked the fifth 1-0 game this season for the Wolverines, who are now 3-2 in those games.
Sara Muse had five saves, and Willow Arkell had two saves for Polk County, which traveled Wednesday to Avery for another WHC contest.
