The Tryon Women’s Golf Association is back in action. Twenty ladies kicked off the 2018 campaign with a nine-hole scramble played on Tuesday at Tryon Country Club’s historic Donald Ross venue. The TWGA season runs March through October, and includes 9-hole matches every Tuesday, a different format and pairings weekly as well as a monthly luncheon with prizes. For more information, call the pro shop at 828-859-9561. Twenty ladies competed in a Captain’s Choice format. The winners were: First place – Jennifer Grabosky, Claire Conrad, Helen Faber and Jo Ann Silvia. Second place (Tie) – Bonnie Sakos, Sarah Potter, Shelley Alexander and Faith Weathington. Second place (Tie) – Ann Gargiulo, Nancy Hiley, Becky Kennedy and Anne Connolly. Closest to the Pin on No. 3 – Joyce Arledge.
