Mary Swift, 95, of Tryon, North Carolina, passed away March 7 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina, after a brief illness.

Mary was born in Toledo, Ohio, and married to J. Thomas Swift for 67 years. Mary and Tom lived in Ohio, New Jersey and Hilton Head before retiring to Tryon in 1994. 

She had a life full of family, friends and travel. Mary volunteered at various organizations,  including Steps to Hope Thrift Shop, Foothills Equestrian Nature Center, Habitat for Humanity and her church, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom.  Surviving are sons, David and Tim (Debra); a daughter, Anne; her grandchildren, Kenzie Capece (Alex), Corey Swift, Sam Swift (Sarah); and a great-granddaughter, Cleo Swift.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at St. John the Baptist Church in Tryon.
