Building improvements coming to Tryon Fine Arts Center

Published 9:35 am Monday, March 19, 2018

Starting the week of March 19, Tryon Fine Arts Center is taking another step to beautify the entry to the arts facility on Melrose Avenue.

The aging magnolias have grown unhealthy over the past few years and produce seedpods which present a safety hazard for pedestrians. The trees will be removed and the area will be re-landscaped with pavers, plantings and sculpture, making the area safer and more spacious for patrons to enjoy.

The simple renovation will feature a garden sculpture donated to Tryon Fine Arts Center by Robert and Wanda Veh.  The project is slated to be completed by the late Wanda Veh’s birthday, April 29.
