Together with St. Luke’s Hospital, Tryon Painters & Sculptors will sponsor a regularly changing exhibit at the hospital.

The “Healing Art Exhibition,” is an open invitational, intended to enliven and enhance the busy environment of dedicated staff and patients at the hospital.

Walking through the hall and offices, visitors, staff and patients are greeted by a colorful variety of works of art. Featured are nearly 100 pieces by over 30 artists from the local community and surrounding area. The exhibit includes drawings, photographs, paintings and mixed media pieces.

The theme is left open, so artists have created works with a wide variety of subject matter and expression, reflecting the ingenuity and creative character of our great artistic community.

The “Healing Arts” exhibition is coordinated by TPS members Robert Kanaby and Vivian Torrence, with the assistance of Jean Wright and Paula Rosen, former curators of the exhibit. All four are artists and are enthusiastic about brightening the walls of St. Luke’s healing environment.

The majority of the art is for sale, and purchases can be made by contacting the individual artist, as listed on the wall tag. A portion of each sale is donated to support the hospital and another small portion goes to Tryon Painters & Sculptors.

For additional information about this exhibit, as well as upcoming shows, classes, workshops and demonstrations please visit Tryon Painters & Sculptors gallery and studios at 78 N. Trade St. in downtown Tryon, or its website at www.tryonpaintersandsculptors.com. Additionally, you can find Tryon Painters & Sculptors on Facebook.
