Frances “Chris” Elizabeth Allen Grady, 87, of Tryon, North Carolina, died Tuesday afternoon, March 13, 2018, at Rosecrest, Inman, South Carolina.

Born in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Christopher Leander Allen and Frances Amos Sarrett Allen.

Mrs. Grady attended Winthrop University and graduated from Agnes Scott College. She taught high school French, Spanish, English and drama.

After retirement, she volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital, Lanier Library Book Selection Committee and Tryon Arts and Crafts Board.

Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Lt. Col. Earle Keith Grady (retired); and one daughter, Frances Elizabeth Grady of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

No services are planned.
