Take a book, share a book
To promote the love of reading, community member Frank McNutt designed and constructed a Little Library, located near the tennis courts at Saluda Elementary School for the community to enjoy. Little Libraries are curbside boxes built within a community as a free book exchange, with the concept being “take a book/share a book.” Saluda School’s Media Specialist Kevin Burnett, Teacher Assistant Ellen Rogers, art teacher Susan McRostie and Saluda Assistant Librarian Cameron Langford collaborated on this project as a way to give something to the community. Saluda fifth-grade students took charge of the project by designing the artwork and painting the structure.
