Calling all budding photographers who also love Super Saturday.

Once again, our annual Youth Photography Contest will take place at this year’s event on March 17. Everyone who knows Super Saturday knows it is a natural for great shots of people having a wonderful time. 

This year is even more special, because it has been 40 years since this beloved community event began.

Established in memory of Mara Smith, long-time supporter and photographer for Super Saturday, the contest is open to youth 18 and under from the Polk County and Landrum area. Participants may submit up to five digital photos taken on the day of the event that capture the fun and excitement of the day. 

Judging the contest will be Mara’s family, including her husband Ford Smith, who is also a photographer.

Prizes will be awarded in the categories of Most Fun, Most Creative, and the Essence of Super Saturday.  Children’s Theater Festival retains the right to use all images for electronic and print promotions in the future for Super Saturday publicity.

Entries must be submitted to supersaturdayphotos@gmail.com between March 18 and 24. Entries must include the photographer’s full name, age, school, phone number, email address and home address. Winners will be notified sometime before April 7.
