Published 8:00 am Tuesday, March 6, 2018

Delicious smells of fresh, homemade spaghetti sauce, warm Italian bread and scrumptious desserts will fill the air, as the Kiwanis Club of Tryon invokes an evening of Italy on Melrose.

The service club’s annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held Thursday, March 8, from 5-7:30 pm, in the great hall at Holy Cross Episcopal Church at 316 Melrose Ave., and the public is invited. Take-outs and wine will be available.

Funds raised will support scholarships for college-bound Polk High seniors.

Tickets are available at the door, at Main Street Insurance in Tryon, and from any member of the Kiwanis Club of Tryon.

“This is a great evening that our club looks forward to every year,” said Marianne Carruth, president of Kiwanis and executive director of the Tryon Fine Arts Center. “Stephen Brady, Lee Cobourn and Stan Gibson have worked hard to make this year’s event successful. It takes a lot of teamwork, but we have fun, and we hope everyone will come out to support our mission — improving the lives of children in our community. Ciao”!
