Wolverines set to open spring sports season, weather permitting

Weather permitting, the spring sports season is slated to kick off Wednesday for Polk County High School, with the Wolverine boys tennis and softball teams in action.

Polk County is scheduled to travel to North Henderson for its softball opener, while the Wolverines host Hendersonville in boys tennis action.

There is a 70 percent chance of afternoon rain in the Columbus area.

The forecast looks better for Friday, when Polk County is scheduled to host Owen in softball and baseball action while the Wolverine track teams host the Tony Waldrop Invitational.
