District trustee to meet with local Kiwanis Club Wednesday

Alec Macaulay, a member of the Kiwanis Club of Charlotte and a district trustee for Kiwanis District 2, will be the guest speaker during the upcoming meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Tryon.

Macauley will present current trends and ideas for growing the club’s membership to ensure a stronger future to meet the Kiwanis mission and focus on children.

Macaulay has been a member of the Kiwanis family for more than half of his lifetime. After joining Key Club in Illinois, Macaulay came to the Carolinas to attend Duke University.

He immediately joined Duke Circle K and served as club president, distinguished district governor and finally Circle K International president in 2006-2007.

During his presidency, Macaulay created the Six Cents Initiative, in partnership with UNICEF, to provide safe drinking water for children in developing countries.
