Hugh Francis “Johnny” Tallent, 74, of Pea Ridge Road, Mill Spring, North Carolina, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at his home.

Johnny was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina, on Nov. 30, 1943, a son of the late Amos and Valree (Taylor) Tallent. He was the husband of Amy (Bagwell) Tallent.

He retired from Go Grocery and was the former store manager of many other grocery stores, and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Ashley Blackwell, of Columbus, North Carolina, and Morgan Champion (Michael), of Columbus; three sons, Mitch Tallent (Jill), of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Blake Tallent (Michele), of Mill Spring, and Travis Blackwell (Erin), of Charlotte, North Carolina; a sister, Dee Byers (Harry), of Greenville, South Carolina; a brother, Wayne Tallent (Ann), of Mooresboro, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Paul, Joe, Jerry and Jesse Tallent.

The family is at the home, and will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, South Carolina.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
